tranont product reviews

The VW Atlas SUV is a three-row SUV offering excellent cargo space and seating in an affordable package. This is a great choice for families but also makes it a fun way to travel with friends or as a couple.

Although the Volkswagen Atlas might be a little late for an update it is still a beautiful and well-built family SUV, which is also easy to drive. This model is available in a variety trim levels and features a wide range of technology features.

The V6 engine standard makes a good amount of power. It also has an easy eight-speed auto transmission. Although it may not be as fast as some of its rivals it will get your whereabouts with relative ease.

The fuel economy isn’t the best but it’s better than base SUVs like Honda and Kia. The city gets it 20 mpg and the highway 25 mpg, which isn’t bad.

The interior comfort is good, with a quiet cabin that's easy to use and decent quality controls. The third row seats offer sufficient leg room and shoulder space for adult occupants. A reclining rear seat can be used with an ottoman to store items.

Driver assistance technologies are plentiful and helpful. Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Traffic Alert alert you to vehicles that are near your blind spot. For frontal crashes, forward collision warning and auto emergency braking may be helpful.

The infotainment software isn't as current as some of its counterparts, but it is intuitively and easily accessible. There is a head up display, an upgraded touchscreen, and smartphone compatibility for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Volkswagen is committed to safety, and the Atlas is no exception. The standard suite contains active safety technologies such as lane departure warning, pre-collisionbraking system with pedestrian detection and adaptive cruise control with stop/go function. You can also upgrade to a satnav or heads-up system with navigation.

You can get a little more power with the turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder. It produces 269 hp, and a staggering 273 lb/ft of torque. It will be available with either front- or all-wheel drive and a 5,000-pound towing capability.

EPA ratings are 21/25 mpg with front-wheel drive and 20/24 mpg with all-wheel drive. Although this is not the best-in class rating, it is better than other SUVs with four-cylinder engine EPA ratings.

Exterior Style

The Atlas is a tall and bulky SUV that has square shoulders. The Atlas looks more like an SUV than the full-size SUVs available on the market. It isn't as attractive as the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade.

Prices

The Atlas' starting MSRP is around $24,400 for a front-wheel-drive model with the standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder. For about $1,650 more you can buy a V-6 powered model. A variety of trims allows you to personalize your Atlas to fit any driving condition.
