metowe is a non-profit company offering a range lifestyle products and travel experiences. Their mission is change the world through empowerment. They work with communities in India, Ecuador, and Kenya to offer opportunities for families and youth to improve their lives.
ME to WE trips cost
The WE Charity website offers trips that allow North Americans to "step into Maasai warlords" in Kenya, or go on a "shamanic ceremony" and learn weapons techniques in Ecuador. These trips include a tour to an "agricultural knowledge centre", a jungle walk, or canoe ride, as well as work on a development initiative.
ME to WE Youth trips
ME to WE youth trips enable young travelers to fully immerse themselves into the lives of those in communities who are supporting WE Charity, a TreadRight charity. They will assist in the construction of a school and clean water system, as well as participate in interactive leadership training workshops.
We Charity Canada has organized many WE Day events, including ones in Vancouver and Calgary. These hashtags, which were related to a specific WE event or a city (#wedayvancouver) have been used to tag several WE Day events. This is evidence that urban-based educational programming can be problematic. While these inspiring concert-style experiences may be fun for students, the co-hashtag graph shows that these programs are promoting hierarchies of privilege that have been previously unacknowledged in the Canadian context.
